2008 Summer Undergraduate Program in Computational Science
The Center for Computational Science at Tulane University announces a new five-week summer research program for undergraduate students majoring in mathematics, science and engineering. The goal of the program is to introduce students to the use of computational techniques in applications that may include molecular dynamics, fluid motion and epidemiology.
The application deadline is May 25, 2008.
Details. The program dates are June 16 - July 18, 2008.
Six student participants will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Majoring in mathematics, engineering or science
- Having taken at least one course in computation
- Interest in multidisciplinary research
- Students from underrepresented minorities are especially sought
Rewards. The program will
- Provide each student with a $2,700 stipend
- Give students experience in computational research in teams consisting of faculty and students
- Provide students opportunities to present their research
- Provide students valuable information about graduate school
